For Museumnacht 2018, together with five WOW Artists in Residence I created a site specific program for Museum Willet-Holthuysen.
The works from the different artists were distributed around the museum in order to interact with the different environment of this fascinating grachtenhuis. Given the nature of the Museumnacht event, the program was thought in a way to be a combination of performance and installations. Filmmaker Ana Brabo Perez presented her video and installation I was in that meeting in the Gentlemen’s Parlor, visual artist and filmmaker Roman Ermolaev presented his graduation film Holy Land.
Fashion designer Iris Woutera de Jong created a site specific sculptural exploration Crackleware for the Ballroom.
Visual artist Monica Mays created a site specific performance Fabulous Fables [and conversations with Figaro] for the Ladies’ Salon, a series of conversations that entangled companionship with bread, love and work, while addressing Figaro, Abraham’s dog and friend, who is portrayed in a large oil painting at the Gentlemen’s Parlour.
Finally, artist Tom Kemp created The Manifest, a live roleplaying panel show involving the curator and conservator of the museum.
